About
Hi, I'm Walt.
I have been a professional mountain guide and exercise physiology researcher for 18 years. I have carried a lot of heavy backpacks for work, play, and training. Over the years of training, I have used every imaginable heavy item in my backpacks to find the perfect balance between easy to load and comfortable to carry. Finally, I decided to create the Summit Seeker to eliminate heavy weights shifting in my backpack and grinding into my back, raiding the linen closet for towels that I used for padding, or fighting bulky items to load them correctly.
I partnered with a design expert, Carson Wilde, and created the Summit Seeker. Because of Carson’s manufacturing expertise, we will execute a two-pronged approach to delivering the Summit Seeker once funded. Once funded, we will purchase materials and manufacture the Montana Pro Summit Seekers in our design facility in Missoula, MT. We plan to deliver these Montana Pro Summit Seekers within six months of being funded. At the same time, we will establish and coordinate production with an overseas manufacturer and plan to deliver these Summit Seekers approximately nine months after the campaign completion.
Hey, I’m Carson.
I have been a gear designer, developer, and prototyper in the outdoor industry for the last 14 years. Working on countless backpacks and frame systems for vastly different activities and people has let me gain insight into the minutia of carrying heavy things properly. Having grown up in the mountains and immersed in the outdoors I’ve been training with and carrying heavy packs most of my life so I jumped at the opportunity to partner with Walt and his expertise to help elegantly solve this problem through the Summit Seeker.
